After seeing that movie and learning more as I got older the implications and insinuations of it, the fascination only grew more distinct. A masterpiece reflection of 60's angst and denial. I just thought it was a silly senario,as a teen hell i knew monkeys didn't talk. Also i would cast smithers as a serial killer inspite of your suggestion.
