Decent Exposure

Our initial standpoint is simple: thanks to the effective democratization of multimedia and information technologies (IT), each citizen has the ability to potentialy become a “reporter” who can identify and offer high added-value information.

You’ll notice a new logo down the left side of the page. Stories from this blog are being picked up by a new site called Agoravox. Well, it’s not exactly new. The French-language version, Agoravox.fr, has been a very successful for some time, but they have just launched their English-language site.

They call themselves a “citizen journalism initiative,” meaning that they are, first, an aggregator of selected blogs from all over. Their writers can also submit stories directly to the site if they want. It’s certainly an interesting concept and I wish them a great deal of good fortune, and not only for the self-serving reason that it means greater exposure for my little site here.

I flattered that they selected me as one of their launch contributors. Pay them a visit, folks.

Easy doesn’t enter into grown-up life.

Nicholas Cage seems condemned to narrate movies in which he stars, beginning with Raising Arizona. No less than two movies last year made similar use of Cage’s vocal talents, Lord of War and now The Weather Man. Why is it about Cage that causes people to cast him in this type of role so often? His voice does have a unique hang-dog quality, sort of like a kindly bloodhound character from an animated Disney movie.
