Paul,

What a tribute you have paid to this classic of a movie! Casablanca is my favorite movie of ALL TIME. The screenplay and acting are outstanding. It didn't take too much for a teenager then to fall in love with Ingrid Bergman who incidentally died the year he was born (read - me ;-) ). Well, the dialogues are most memorable, especially the one Captain Renault uses as a compliment to Lisa. He says something like, "It's rumoured that you're the most beautiful woman to have set her feet on Casablanca; but after meeting you, it appears to be a case of gross understatement".
Well, it must be evident that I am still in love, more with the film now than the leading lady. I am delighted at the research-based information your review provides in the beginning.
Thank you,
Ravi

A classic. One of my all-time favorites. The movie screenplay was written by the Epstein brothers, Julius and Philip, and Howard Koch. Long, long list of credits for all of them. How many movies can choke the viewer up when the National Anthem for another country is played. It is said that Bogie didn't even know why he was nodding "okay" to someone below because the scene hadn't been written yet.
