Finally got to see Serenity. I put it on my Top Ten for the year. Close to the Top. Good movie even if you’d never seen the TV show. I just wish there had been more interaction between Mal and Inara. Slight quibble.

I liked this review, and totally agree with your views on Universal’s marketing fubar. I’m a diehard Firefly fan, and loved every moment of the movie. I was disappointed it didn’t do better at the box office.

O! What a beautiful long post you have about the wonder that was Firefly! Fox is evil, or at least remarkably dimwitted for what it did to that show. I admit I’m one of the late-comers who only discovered it in dvd form, as a Whedon follower. It’s great it got revived in film form, but it’s small recompense for losing it as a series.
