It was always PG. Brief nudity in PG movies was possible even after PG-13 came along. Logan’s Run had a lot more skin than this movie.

Back in 1971, The Andromeda Strain managed to squeak by with a G rating, despite bare male buttocks and female breasts.

I picked up a airplane video and I swear it was rated R so I put it back. My kids are still too young to see an R rated movie. Was this movie when it was first released have an R rating because of the brief nudity or was it always a PG
