I loved watching Batman when it came out. I haven’t got to see the new one yet though

No Batman has been as good as the 1989 version, due largely in part to Jack Nicholson. I would put Batman Returns in third, behind Batman and Batman Begins but (of course) ahead of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, the latter two of which were travesties of cinema.

The villians did take center stage in the previous movies, I think Batman finally gets his due in Batman begins. Rhas al Ghul and Scarecrow were portrayed very well, but Batman was the focus.

Nice review. I like your blog. I for one, being a fan of the Dark Night comics found the first two Batman films good, but not great. I enjoy Tim Burton and his style and I love Michael Keaton and thought he made a good Batman. But it just wasn’t dark enough for me. Entertaining, yes. Accurate, no…And I like to pretend that Batman Forever and Batman and Robin never EVER happened. Nipples on the Bat-suit? Please. Batman Begins was more my taste as it had not a teensy bit of “comic-booky” flair to it and minus Katie Soon-to-have-an-alien-baby Holmes, it’s my favorite one. But yeah, long story short: Catwoman was seriously hot.

Anyway, I’m reminded of an anecdote from the first Batman movie, where Michael Keaton was fretting over how to play the Batman character. During a break between scenes, Jack Nicholson leaned over to him and said, “Relax, kid. Just let the suit do the acting.”
